AB 430 - Principal Training    

Introduction

  • The Etiwanda School district is proud to announce that it is one of the few state approved training providers for AB 430, Module 1 Houghton Mifflin Reading. In addition, Etiwanda has been approved for providing Module 2 and 3 training.


  • AB 430 provides funding for professional development focused on building principals' leadership skills and capacity to serve effectively their critical and complex roles.


  • The Goal of AB 430 is to develop principals who are able to establish sound and clear instructional goals, who collaboratively develop data-driven instructional strategies, and who can lead a school through powerful instructional change.


  • Districts who choose to train with Etiwanda can be assured that they will be afforded a variety of experiences and instruction to meet these rigorous state goals.

  • Completion of AB 430 modules 1,2 and 3 will fulfill the requirements for the tier 2 administrative credential.

  • Module 1 - Leadership & Support of Student Instructional Program

    • Learn core academic standards
    • Learn the curriculum frameworks and instructional materials aligned to the content standards
    • Elementary - Houghton Mifflin - Language Arts
    • Middle Schools - McDougal Littell, Prentice Hall, Holt - Language Arts / Holt, Prentice Hall, McDougal Littell - Math
    • High Schools - McDougal Littell, Prentice Hall - Language Arts / Holt, Prentice Hall, McDougal Littell - Math

     

  • Module 2 - Leadership & Management for Instruction Improvement
     
    • Learn to compile and analyze data
    • Learn how to leverage community funds
    • Learn effective methods of evaluating, motivating, and improving teacher performance
       
  • Module 3 - Instructional Technology to Improve Pupil Performance
     
    • Learn about the available instructional resources
    • Learn financial management technology
    • Learn academic data management

Practicum

  • Eighty hours of practicum are required to complete the training. Each administrator will receive a Practicum Hours Verification Report. A list of suggested practicum activities are addressed during the training and are included on the Verification Report. Suggested hours include: attending SB472 training, creating school web pages, and analyzing or communicating assessments with your staff.
